Sims to Host Senior Health & Resource Fair

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – State Rep. Elgie Sims Jr., D-Chicago, is inviting residents to a Senior Health and Resource Fair on Thursday, October 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Tuley Park Fieldhouse, 501 east 90th Place in Chicago to continue his effort to increase the health of senior residents.

“Too many residents in our communities do not have access
to the quality healthcare they deserve, ...” Sims said. This event will include the services and resources many seniors need and have limited access too, including the CEDA weatherization program. CEDA representatives will be available taking application and explaining the weatherization process and guidelines. Additionally, the Cook County Assessor's office will have a table set up to help qualify for tax exemptions and senior freezes.

Sims is co-hosting the event with state Sen. Donne Trotter. The event will feature free wellness services including breast cancer and mental health information,
screenings for HIV and high-blood-pressure, and free flu shots. Additional confirmed vendors include...
