Applications for Adult Redeploy Planning Grants Now Available Due March 6, 2015


Adult Redeploy Illinois is making planning grants of up to $30,000 available to counties or groups of counties for convening stakeholders and analyzing data to explore how they might implement an Adult Redeploy Illinois-funded program locally.

Planning grants are for approximately 90 days and must be expended, with all activities completed by June 30, 2015. Grant activities and expenses may include, but are not limited to:

Hiring a strategic planning consultant or outside facilitator
Performing an outside or in-house data analysis
Providing stakeholder training (bringing in a trainer for a group of local stakeholders, or travel to an established training or conference)
Conducting site visits to observe successful diversion programs inside or outside of Illinois
Community resource mapping
To request a planning grant, jurisdictions must submit the following by March 6, 2015:

Letter on official letterhead to include:
Amount requested
Basic proposed planning grant activities
Key stakeholders involved
Project timeline and time period covered

Funded jurisdictions must complete and submit a local implementation plan to expand alternatives to incarceration for non-violent offenders, using the standard plan template [Click here to download the Standard Plan Template in PDF] available at the Adult Redeploy Illinois website: The plan is due no later than the last day of the awarded planning grant period. Planning grantees are under no obligation, however, to implement the plan. Adult Redeploy Illinois’ ability to provide subsequent implementation grants is subject to state appropriation levels.
